Heritage Birth Center - Rhome, TX
The Heritage Birth Center has been serving natural birthing families since 2018 with its original location in Lubbock, before moving down to Abilene in 2021, and finally ending up in Rhome in 2026. A birth center is designed to be a middle ground for those who want the “feel” of having a home birth, but they do not want the hassle that can sometimes come with birthing in your own home. With the birth center, you just bring any personal items you’d like with you in labor, then once you’re ready to head home a few hours after birth, you just pack those things up and we take care of all of the tub, linen and room clean-up for you!
To give our moms and babies the cozy feel of home, we decided to purchase an existing home on two acres in a quiet residential neighborhood. The house had been vacant for the past couple of years following the passing of the elderly original owners who custom built it in 1986. Since it has not been updated in the past 40-years, we are currently doing an extensive renovation on it to serve our needs as a birth center. The Heritage Birth Center in Rhome will be 2,300 sqft and have two birth rooms, each with their own large birthing tub and full ensuite private bathroom. It will also have a prenatal room, a large reception/childbirth education room with a public half bathroom, a front office, a full kitchen with a table & chairs as well as barstools, and a large utility/storage area.
We are located 20 minutes away from two hospitals, and have EMS located just around the corner for a fast response time in case an emergency transport is needed.
